Rebecca is currently the Director of Peaceworks and a parttime Senior Lecturer in Peace Studies at the University of New England. She has an international reputation as a peace/conflict specialist. She has particular expertise in the following areas: Conflict sensitisation of development programming, Gender and peacebuilding, Peacebuilding after armed conflict and Community reconstruction processes. Rebecca has conducted peace and conflict impact assessments and evaluations for international and national organizations. She has received large grants and led research projects in Bougainville, Timor Leste, Northern Ireland and the Solomons. She has acted as a peace and conflict development specialist consultant for a wide variety of government, international government and international nongovernment organisations. Rebecca specialises in designing programs and training organisations in current peace and conflict methodologies, including Do No Harm, Peace and Conflict Impact Assessment, Strategic Conflict Assessments, and Strategic Peacebuilding processes. Rebecca is a designated trainer for the AusAID Peace and Conflict Sensitivity in Development Programming course which she designed. She is also a member of the training roster for the UNDP Pacific Institute for Peacebuilding and Development.
Rebecca is currently employed nearly fulltime fulfilling Peaceworks business and is only working one day a week at UNE.
