Dr. Quassy Adjapawn

Quassy Adjapawn holds Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Peace and Conflict Studies from
the University of New England. The title of his thesis is Elusive Peace: Interrogating the
inter-ethnic conflicts in the Northern Region of Ghana (Konkombas and Dagombas).
He has a wide range of professional experiences in Organizational Management,
Organizational Development and Strategic Planning. In line with his academic pursuit,
his research interests centre on Peace and Conflicts in general, but specifically on
Ethnic Conflicts in the sub-Saharan African region.

Dr. Adjapawn has studied and worked in a number of organizations in various
capacities. He was Mathematics and Physics tutor at Adanwomase Secondary School in
Ghana, Manager at Edwards Dunlop Paper – Sydney, Manager at Maica Laminates -
Sydney and held the position as Director of House Guard Pty Ltd – Sydney, as well as
Biodiesel Industries Ghana (BIG) Ltd.

He has a Diploma in Biodiesel Production Technology from the Biodiesel Institute, Las
Vegas – USA, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New
England, and Master of Professional Studies (Hons) in Peace Studies which he upgraded
into a Ph.D. program at the same educational institution. He has attended several other
courses aimed at strengthening his professional competencies.

In the last few years, he has been teaching key Peace and Conflicts units at both
undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of New England, Armidale,
Australia. He just finished a contract lecturing in International Politics: Conflict and
Conflict Management (POLS 310) and Diplomacy (DIPL 401) at the University of
Canterbury, Christchurch in New Zealand.
