Rebecca is currently a Senior Lecturer in Peace Studies at the University of New England and have an international reputation as a peace/conflict specialist. She has particular expertise in the areas of conflict sensitisation of development programming, gender and peacebuilding, peacebuilding after armed conflict and community reconstruction processes.

Dr. Jonathan Makuwira
Jonathan is currently a Lecturer in International Development at the Department of Global Studies, School of Social Science & Planning, RMIT University, Melbourne Australia. His current research on urban poverty and non-governmental development organisations’ (NGDOs’) intervention mechanisms in Malawi is funded by RMIT Emerging Researchers Grant.

Dr. Quassy Adjapawn
Quassy is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Peace and Conflict Studies with the School of Humanities, Centre for Peace Studies, University of New England. He has a wide range of professional experiences in Organizational Management, Organizational Development and Strategic Planning. In line with his academic pursuit, his research interests centre on Peace and Conflicts in general, but specifically on Ethnic Conflicts in the sub-Saharan African region.

Noelene Nabulivou
Noelene Nabulivou is from Fiji and Australia. She works within and across multiple groups, networks and movements of squatter and informal settlement women; sex workers; lesbian, trans and queer women; young pacific feminists; women prisoners and ex-prisoners; women’s human rights defenders and peacebuilders, since the mid 1980s.

Helen Swain
Helen is currently a part-time casual teacher in the General Education and Equity Services faculty at New England Institute of TAFE, Tamworth campus. She teaches Humanities’ units such as Human Rights, Comparative Indigenous Studies in the Tertiary Preparation Course, and in the Certificate of General and Vocational Education. She also teaches basic Literacy and Numeracy, ESOL and provides tutorial support to learners with disabilities. She coordinates and teaches in the course Career Education and Employment for Women and the Pathways to Employment, Education and Training designed for clients of NSW Probation and Parole.

Mick is a founding member and co-director of the independent, not for profit action-think tank Evolveris which focuses on supporting sustainability regional ‘communities’ and fostering web based community storytelling learning and friendship networks across the Pacific-Oceania region.

Dr Marie Loller
Marie has extensive experience in Peace Education in Israel Palestine. For many years she worked at the internationally renowned Mar Elias Education Institution in Galilee. She is a teacher, an adult educator and holds a doctorate in peace education.

Niroshinie Nayagam
Niro implements Economic Governance, Reform and Policy Advocacy agendas at National, Provincial and Local Government levels. . This involves identification of needs through social and economic research, thereby analyze and interpret the same to give impetus to the prescriptions of advocacy for reform. There is also a complete project management focus, with monitoring and evaluation. Grantee administration, finance administration, personnel management and gender mainstreaming are also part of the portfolio. Steered a group of professionals and co-authored the Economic Governance Index 2007 published in Sri Lanka for the first time (Published July 2007).
• Designed and led a team of professionals and co-authored the Preliminary Economic Governance Index 2008 for the Eastern Province(Conflict Zone) – a qualitative assessment (Launched in February 2009, published in June 2009)
• Co-authored the Policy Advocacy Handbook for better Economic Governance (Published October 2008) • Provided technical input and lead a team of experts for an extensive research on the District Chamber network and Trade Associations across 4 provinces. This study included a perception survey, satisfaction survey, human
resources audit and a needs assessment. Finalized 26 reports and 1 summary report in 2009.
• Monitored and provided technical input for an extensive qualitative research exercise in the North and East(Conflict Zone) of Sri Lanka on the Justice Systems in 2004.
• Managed and provided technical input for a 10,000 sample survey on Citizens Perceptions for Transparent Accountable Local Government in 2005-2006.
• Moderated a large regional private sector forum on Tax Reform and Economic Policy Reform 2010; following the discussion compiled a comprehensive note for the Government of Sri Lanka in October 2009.
