Workplan and strategy ‘training’ exercise
Last friday (18th March), Micheal, Rebecca and Irene laid all cards on the table and came up with the Peaceworks organisations structure and strategic focus areas, all of which is helping us formulate our workplan. Consensus is ‘it is a very busy year’. Bring it on!
Feel free to browse over the one page business charter we formulated, here:

Current Peaceworks Projects
On the return of Michael from PNG and the sorry business he attended with Peacework’s colleague Sabine Altmann, the ideas and opportunities have begun pouring in. Captured here by new Executive Assistant, Irene Lemon, is a snapshot and general overview of current projects bubbling away on the Peacework’s stove. The kitchen is getting hotter, but with such delicious offerings in the menu… If you have any queries or words of encouragement, please don’t hesitate to email!

We are very lucky to have them.
Fiji, Regional NSW and beyond
Hi, after a big break, an update.
WE have been busy working with Regional Development Australia Northern Inland Region with community planning dialogues and strategic planning. This has involved travel to small communities to hear their ideas about how to progress their priorities.
We have also been working in Fiji and are about to return there.
The social narratives course at the Summer Peacebuilding Institute went extremely well thanks to the amazing and wonderful participants who are at the cutting edge of peacebuilding.
We are still in the process of developing our certificates in peacebuilding and leadership for turbulent times and they are progressing well and we are in negotiations with a regional TAFE campus – more on that later…….
2010 happenings
Hi,
We have been relaxing for the first month of this year but are now gearing up for a busy year.
First up is the development of new certificates in strategic peacebuilding which we are in the process of co-designing. When they come online they will offer professionals a chance to link up with other professionals working in the field of peacebuilding and share and compare approaches and learnings. Watch the peaceworks space for more news as it gets developed.

In late 2009 we successfully completed our Sudan to Tamworth project and the video clips are available for viewing under this link http://vimeo.com/videos/search:SVM
We were delighted with the outcome of the project as were our Sudanese friends and participants.
Our Ghana Peaceworks Director, Quassy Adjapawn, has just had a book published about the conflict in Northern Ghana and the potential solutions. you can contact Quassy at Quassy.peacework@gmail.com for more details and a copy.
We are working in many places this year:
Sri Lanka in March
Fiji in April
London in June and
Check out the Eastern Mennonite University Summer Peacebuilding Institute at http://www.emu.edu/cjp/pti/spi/courses/ because Rebecca will be teaching a course there with Koila Costello Olson, the director of our partner organisation the Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding. Our course runs from June 14-18 and is called Transforming Social Narratives to Build Peace.
